This hike starts directly behind Basalt High School and heads west along a gentle trail before climbing steeply to a ridge near the top of Light Hill.
Difficulty: Easy to Medium
From Basalt to the Trailhead: From the main Basalt stoplight on Hwy. 82, go south on Basalt Ave. Take a right onto Fiou Lane, then left on Southside Dr. to where it terminates at the high school. Behind and to the left of the school there is a bus turnaround. The trail begins at the left side of the turnaround.
