Basalt Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting

Restricted to representatives of Member Business. This annual meeting takes place in the Spring and is intended to inform member businesses about what has happened in the past year, and what to look forward to in the coming year. A key-note speaker is always invited to discuss topics relevant to the business community. A small fee is associated with this event, and breakfast is provided. This is a fabulous opportunity for member businesses to become involved and educated on various Chamber information. For more information please contact the Basalt Chamber at 970-927-4031.


Basalt Summer Cinema: Movies in the Park – Basalt Chamber of Commerce

The Basalt Summer Cinema Series is presented by the Basalt Chamber. Basalt now has its own version of an outdoor “walk-in” movie theatre: Basalt Summer Cinema | Movies in the Park. Three feature films will be shown in Lions Park on a 16-foot inflatable screen with four Eurolive outdoor speakers. The 2017 series will feature three movies chosen by the audiences from the 2016 series: Singin’ in the Rain, Hook and E.T. Add to these some fun pre-movie events. Think local premieres, a song or two, student projects, virtual reality demos, you name it. Bring a blanket, picnic, your sweetheart and the kids. Popcorn and drinks will be available for purchase in the park. The 2017 series begins Saturday, June 10, continues July 15 and ends August 12. NOTE: No alcohol can be brought in to or taken out of Lions Park. Details.

Summer Concert Series – Town of Basalt | Basalt Chamber of Commerce

This concert series organized by the Basalt Chamber of Commerce runs for 6-10 weeks in the summer and hosts a variety of bands. This series offers a fantastic opportunity for families to get out and enjoy the summer. The venue alternates between the stage in Lions Park-Downtown and Triangle Park in Willits Town Center. Basalt Sunday Market

The summer farmers market in Basalt can be found on Midland Spur, infront of Basalt Town Hall from mid-June through the beginning of October. A variety of fairs can be found at this eclectic collection of local venors. Live music is provided weekly. The winter market is held in various locations throughout Town. Basalt Half Marathon

Arguably the fastest & most scenic half marathon on the Western Slope, the Basalt Half Marathon boasts a fun, downhill course traveling along the acclaimed Frying Pan River. The course begins 13.1 miles from Basalt on the Frying Pan Road (paved) at the base of Ruedi Reservoir. Runners will be transported to the start line from Basalt Middle School. The race will finish on Midland Ave at Lion’s Park adjacent to the Town of Basalt office building.

Roaring Fork Charity Classic

This charity golf tournament is offered as a fund raising opportunity for a Basalt-based nonprofit. This annual event benefits a different non-profit (or group of non-profits) each year and allows an opportunity for non-members to play on this normally private golf course. Taste of Basalt

Put on your dancing shoes for the Annual Taste of Basalt. All proceeds from the event enhance education for our Basalt Public Schools. The evening features food and drinks from local restaurants and beverage providers, a large silent auction and a raffle. More information can be found on the Basalt Education Foundation website. It’s a good time for great food. Tickets go on sale in September.

Roaring Fork Conservancy Frying Pan River Clean-Up

Help clean up one of the most beautiful stretches of river in the country! Volunteers of all ages welcome! Enjoy for a free breakfast before cleaning up a 1-mile section of the river. Please dress appropriately with warm layers, gloves, long pants, a hat and sunscreen. Prizes for: Best of Trash, Most Toxic, Most Useful, Most Unusual Trash. More information at: .

Roaring Fork Conservancy River Float

Roaring Fork Conservancy ( is very excited to offer an opportunity for Roaring Fork Valley residents and visitors to experience the Roaring Fork River first-hand. Join them for this half-day float along the lower Roaring Fork River from Carbondale to Glenwood Springs. Jump on a boat provided by Aspen Whitewater, Blazing Adventures,  Blue Sky Adventures or Elk Mountain Expeditions for sightseeing, education, fun, and a cookout at the end of the float at Coryell Ranch in Carbondale. This event is open to the public for a non-refundable fee. Space is limited. More information at .


Roaring Fork Conservancy River Rendezvous

Now, more than ever, we are focused on protecting the essential: our rivers and streams. Our territory is vast–a watershed encompassing an area the size of Rhode Island (1,451 square miles), reaching from Aspen to Glenwood and from Marble to Meredith! The Annual River Rendezvous, hosted by the Rivers Council of Roaring Fork Conservancy, will raise much needed funds for Conservancy programs: watershed conservation, research, land conservation, water quality monitoring and education. Emma Schoolhouse Christmas Bazaar

Do your holiday shopping at the historic Emma Schoolhouse located 2 miles west of Basalt on Highway 82. The Annual Emma Schoolhouse Christmas Bazaar features all handmade food and gifts made by local artists. It’s magical how this beautiful little Schoolhouse transforms into a quaint holiday boutique for the holidays!
